A 3D Game Engine

This game engine is a completely scripted freeform
animation system. It is built upon
a multiplayer framework that is designed
to handle a large number of players.

This game engine is being developed in the
vein of previous games such as
Elite, Freelancer and Wing Commander.
I also intend on providing the ability
later on of playing in a FPS environment.
This is something that I feel is missing
from many space games.

Galaxy Empire is in a very early stage of development
but it is expanding rapidly. The game engine is only a little
over 6 months old but it already contains many
major elements of the game. You are welcome
to join in the development of the game.

Multi-state HUD system cosisting of around 19 different player states
Text based INI configuration scripts
DirectX based rendering system
FX particle system
FX pulse beam system
Ray-cast collision detection
Triggerable FX
Script based key command set
Full 3D flight system
Dynamic markets
Trading system with persistant markets
Audio playback of any sound type you have installed
FX texture animation
Continuous universe based on sectors
Nebulas
Lights that include a mesh
Sublight & warp velocities
Preset speed settings 0 to 10 for both sublight & warp velocities
Texture glow maps , added simply by adding a _g to the texture name
Multiple different ship hardpoint types
Supports 256 simultaneous players on the server
Autoupdater used to handle file changes

Minimum System Requirements

Windows XP or higher
Minimum video card memory recommended - 128 megs
Minimum processor - AMD 3000+ or or Intel 3 GHz
Minimum memory - 512 megs

Preferred settings for smooth game play
Dual core processor, a Celeron doesn't count
Video memory - 256 megs+
Memory - 1 gig+
