I ask if it`s possible to put into a starsphere a GIF animation (for example a clipping star).
I tried and so far it showed only a white square where it was the GIF texture .
Any ideas ? |

| FL doesn't support gif, only tga and dds, that's why you are only getting a white background. I would suggest looking at the explosion animations for examples of doing texture animations. |

IIRC you will need to create an usable texture in dds or tga format. GIF isn't supported by FL. I don't know if anims are supported for the starsphere either since their format is a bit different than a regular model.
There are at least 2 types of anims that FL supports, sliding textures and frames. Look in the tutorial section for all of the animation commands. Also, speak with the guys from Underverse, they did plenty of animated billboards... |

I figured out how to add this feature .
The effect is star texture sliding over and over, but because the star is very small the effect is like a "clipping" star.
I was facinated by eve online`s backgrounds and compared to FL where the sky is very static (don`t know why DA didn`t implement this feature).
This is an example of starsphere with stars, created with Devastat0r`s starsphere utility and with some custom stars: |
